Loewen is the winner of the 2006 BICA "Best in Class Award" in the Luxury Window Manufacturer Class 

In 2006, MRA (Market Resource Associates) of Minneapolis, MN, conducted a survey of distributors, remodeling contractors, home builders and retail dealers.

Over 1000 industry professional ranked the performance of 21 wood or clad wood window manufacturer brands in categories ranging from consistent product quality to good customer value.

Loewen was ranked highest in the following performance attributes:

  • Providing consistent product quality from unit to unit
  • Ensuring units are consistently square
  • Quality features for customers
  • Effective literature that sells the product
  • Providing good customer value
  • Overall product quality
  • Overall manufacturer service performance and relationship


Loewen Presented with WMC Award of Distinction

On October 26, 2007 Loewen was presented with the Wood Manufacturing Council (WMC) Award of Distinction, which recognizes a company that has made a significant contribution over time to support the human resource needs of the advanced wood processing industry.

The criteria used by the judges to select the award recipient include: Long term continued involvement in WMC activities and/or activities related to progressing the advanced wood processing industry; Demonstrated history of leadership; Extraordinary practitioner of the HR profession or supporter to the advancement of HR issues for the advanced wood processing industry; and, a true champion of the advanced wood processing industry.

Upon presenting the award to Loewen, WMC Executive Director, Richard Lipman, indicated that Loewen was selected by the panel of judges because of its leadership in the industry overall. He went on to say that Charles Loewen, CEO, was one of the driving forces behind establishing the sector council, and that Loewen continues to contribute to Council through participation on the WMC Board of Directors. 

The WMC is a sector council sponsored by Human Resources & Skills Development Canada. It represents companies who manufacture windows and doors, millwork, wood flooring, furniture, pre-fabricated homes and building products, and cabinetry. The Council strives to assist member companies to identify and address challenges relating to recruitment, retention and skill development in the industry.
